dc.descriptionFam. 119. Convolvulaceae. A. Cuscuta angulata Engelm. 1. Small piece of plant, parasitic on Berzelia abrotanoides. 2. Piece of stem and parasite, showing the suckers. 3. Flowers. 4. Calyx. 5. Corolla, laid open, with stamens and corona. 6. Pistil with the two stigmata. 7. Transverse section of ovary. B. Ipomoea biloba Forsk. (Syn. I. pes caprae). 1. Buds and flowers with carpenter bee (Xylocopa caffra ♀). 2. Leaf, nat. size. 3. Lower portion of corolla-tube, laid open, with the adnate stamens. 4. Pistil, nat. size. 5. Young capsule. C. I. angustisecta Engler. Seed, very woolly, from Griqualand West. D. I. argyreioides Choisy. 1. Capsule, front portion removed, showing the seeds. 2. Seed, long. section, showing the folded cotyledons and the reduced endosperm. 3. Seed, transv. section. From Queenstown.
