Stellenbosch, Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk - Welgelegen Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk - Welgelegen: The church in Welgelegen, a congregation established in 1965, has an impressive tower but unfortunately the bell hangs too high to be reached for physical and acoustical measurements. However, the bell is easily recognized as we have encountered similar bells in other churches in the Western Cape. Below the shoulder are two decorative bands and in between in a long sentence all around the bell. + A.D. 1963 + Petit & Fritsen Aarle-Rixel. Holland 5675 Gelewerd deur Suid-Afrikaanse orrelblouwers (EDMS) Beperk. Silverton On the front side appears the weapon or seal of the foundry. It contains 3 bells (1 and 2). At the sound bow one finds some further moulding wires. Because of the similarity with other bells of the same foundry we could guess some of the physical measurements of the bell.en_ZA
