Coloured map. Line scale given. Title cartouche in bottom right corner, an ox skin supported by 2 natives with tortoises and monkeys at the foot. Two ships are shown off the west coast & 1 off the east coast. This map is almost identical to a map by William Blaeu which first appeared in 1635. The main differences are: 2 ships off E. coast in Blaeu instead of 1, and Lake Zachaf is named inside the lake in Jansson & outside in Blaeu. See Tooley's Collectors' guide to maps of Africa, p.29,58.
