Photographs and information on the bell of St. James Anglican Church in Cape Town. The St. James Anglican Church at Sea Point has a high tower that has somewhat lost its brightness due to the rust spots resulting from the shutters of the belfry windows. In the tower hangs a bell that can only be reached with great pain. The effort is hardly worth it as the bell is almost entirely covered by pigeon droppings. The bell has moderate seize and only one one side can one guess a decoration. The bell hangs on a wooden beam. Below the shoulder are two pairs of moulding wires, three more above the sound bow and two on the lip. The only decoration that is still visible presumably is a founder’s emblem in the shape of a triangle with one tip pointing downwards. The moulding wires are similar to those of the Taylor bell in the church of St. Margaret Mary.
