Hope of Constantia. Hoop op Constantia is one of the estates in the neighbourhood of the main Constantia estate, Groot Constantia, of which it used to be a part. Like the other estates the old manor house lies in a magnificent, scenic surrounding. The bell hangs in a horse shoe construction and dates from 1815 as can be seen on the pictures. The date on the bell is captured in between two pairs of moulding wires. Two more moulding wires are cast just above the knee. The bell reminds us vividly of two other bells that carry the same date and have comparable decorations. These are the bells of the domain Uitsig and Silverhurst, both in the very near vicinity of the current location.
