dc.description	A. Lachenalia tricolor (L.) Thunb. Raceme, the flowers visited by a butterfly (Colias electra). B. Drimia haworthioides Baker. 1. Plant in winter. The blades of the leaves are appressed to the ground, the white swollen bodies are the petioles of former leaves, which have been transformed into storage organs. 2. Inflorescence (December). 3. Young plant springing from one such fleshy body, that had been kept exposed to the air for six months. C. Kniphofia tabularis Marl. 1. Rootstock with two young leaves and short stumps of three others, their full length being 5-6 feet. 2. Raceme.
