dc.description	A. Gladiolus Florentiae Marl., from Prince Albert. B. G. alatus L. 1. Flowering plant. 2. Corms, viz. the old one from last year below, the corm which produced the present plant in the middle, and the new one, which will remain dormant during the summer, above it. 3. Transverse section of leaf, 8/1, the yellow parts represent the ribs, which consist of mechanical tissue. C. G. debilis Ker (The painted lady). D. G. recurvus L. [non Flor. Cap]. Flowering plant with corm and leaves, the stem spotted. E. Synnotia bicolor (Thunb.) Sweet. 1. Corm with remains of previous generations below. 2. Spike, with visiting fly (Empis bivittata)*.
