dc.description	A. Disa patens Thunb. 1. Plant in flower, the radical leaves dry. 2. Section of petal (upper layers of cells only). In nature one finds the yellow chromatophores aggregated into a layer in the base of the epidermal cells. This layer acts as a reflecting surface and the conical apex of each cell as a lens in front of it. B. D. filicornis (L. fil.) Thunb. C. D. maculata L. fil. (The colour is a little too pale). D. D. vaginata Harv. E. D. longicornu L. fil. 1. Flowering plant on a mossy cliff. 2. Ripe capsule, shedding its seeds. 3. Seed. 50/1.
