dc.description	A. Disa ferruginea (Thunb.) Swartz. 1. Plant with withered leaves and tuber of the present season; the shrivelled remains of last year’s tuber visible on left (March). Of the three or more root-like shoots descending from the crown one only would develop into a new tuber during the winter, absorbing the surplus material of the present tuber and storing it together with the new matter formed by the leaves. 2. Spike, with visiting butterfly (Meneris tulbaghia). 3. Petal. 4. Pollinium. B. D. Charpentieriana Reichb. f. Spike. C. D. spathulata Swartz Lip. D. D. graminifolia Ker. 1.
