The college is situated in a remarkably beautiful area north of Somerset West. It belongs to the Adventist Church and houses i.a. a school of theology. In front of the latter building stands an impressive bell tower. The steel bell that hangs in it comes from the C.S. Bell Company, situated in Hillsboro, Ohio, U.S.A. This company refers to Charles Singleton Bell. The name of the founder does not appear on the bells as is usually done with bronze bells, but on the yoke from which the bell is hung. Numbers in the middle of the yoke probably refer to an internal numbering. For example, the number 2 in Paarl indicates that the bell was probably made shortly after 1894 when the company emerged from a former partnership. There is no indication of a founding year.
