Photographs and information on a bell in the Vier Eike complex, Stellenbosch. The Vier Eike bell is a recently installed bell that hangs in a horseshoe type construction at the gate of a complex of apartments on Molteno Street in Stellenbosch. The bell is unique in the sense that it is a rare example of bell that has been cast at the Xmeco Foundry in Port Elizabeth.

Colin Lewis, a native from the UK, was professor at Rhodes University until his retirement in 2012. The bell here weighs a bit less than 20kg. Other bells by the same founders can be found in St. George’s cathedral in Cape Town and at the Camphill community in Hermanus.
