dc.description.abstract | The Riversdale St Matthew’s Anglican Church of 1849 is a Sophie Gray church. In contrast to most other of these churches, the bell does not hang in a high-up bell-cote but in a neat white bell tower next to the building. In between two sets of two moulding wires below the shoulder one reads JOHN WARNER & SONS, LONDON probably followed by the year of founding. On the waist we find the emblem of the foundry followed by the word PATENT. | |
