dc.description.abstractPhotographs of the bells on the marketplace in Wuppertal, South Africa. n the Marketplace in Wuppertal stands a tower with two large bells that are made of steel. This structure makes up one of the main attractions of the town. The two bells have been made in Germany and carry the decorations GEG.V.BOCHUMER VEREIN BOCHUM 1899 The inscription indicates that the bells have been founded in 1899 by the Bochumer Verein that has been responsible i.a. for the two bells in the Lutheran Church in Worcester and the two bells in the Rhenish Church in Stellenbosch. One of the bells carries the founding number on the inside. The number is 9136.
