Silverhurst is an estate in the neighbourhood of the main Constantia estates, again a magnificent house in a scenic surrounding. The bell hangs in a horse shoe construction. The bell itself dates from 1815 as can be seen on the picture. The date is captured in between two pairs of moulding wires. Two more moulding wires are cast just above the knee. According to the owners there should be a twin bell in the direct vicinity of the estate. From our previous trips we remember the bell of the domain Uitsig that has exactly the same date in an identical setting of moulding wires.
