The Convent of the Dominican Sisters in Springfield: Within the gardens of the convent stands a high bell tower in which hangs a fairly good size bell. There are hardly any decorations on the bell except for a reference to the foundry, on the left side of the bell. The reference is in two lines where the top line is curved like on ship bells. PHOENIX FOUNDRY CAPE TOWN. Not much is known about the foundry except that it has been operational between the late eighteen hundred and the seventies of last century.
