Inscription at the bottom of the photo: Battle of Doornkop at Krugersdorp, Transvaal, 2 January 1896. It was here where L.S. Jameson surrendered to P.A. Cronjé, who together with H.P. Malan and F.J. Potgieter stopped the raid.
