dc.description	Fam. 118. Asclepiadaceae. A. Stapelia glabricaulis N. E. Br. From Eastern Cape Province. 1. Flowering twig with visiting carrion-fly. 2. Lobe of outer corona. B. S. variegata L. From Signal Hill, Capetown. 1. Plant with bud and flower. 2. Outer corona. 3. (at upper end of plate). Lobe of inner corona with horned process and anther. 4. Fruit. 5. Seed. 6-8. Seedlings (upper end of plate). C. Diplocyatha ciliata (Thunb.) N. E. Br. 1. Plant with flower and two buds, from the Karoo of Prince Albert. 2. (upper end of plate). Section through the three coronas and base of corolla. 3. Middle and inner coronas. The segments of the middle corona are sometimes entire.
