Erinus L. with visiting butterfly, Lycaena Lysimon L., ♂, a butterfly of wide distribution, being found also in Southern Europe. D. Roëlla ciliata L. Flower in its second stage, showing the shrivelled anthers and the unfolded stigmata. Visited by Lepitrix stigma. 2. Capsule, enclosed in persistent calyx, some of the supporting apical leaves underneath the calyx removed. 3. Capsule in long. section, with calyx. 4. Capsule, transv. section. 5. Pollen-grain. E. Wahlenbergia capensis (L.) A. DC. Small piece. F. Cyphia volubilis Willd. Flowers visited by Teninora pylas, which feeds while on the wing.
