dc.descriptionPhoenix reclinata Jacq. 1. Female plant in fruit, much reduced. 2. Spikelet from female inflorescence. Nat. size. 3. ♀ Flower showing the three stigmas just exserted between the 3 inner perianth-segments. 4. The three carpels, without the perianth. 5. Spikelet of male inflorescence. Nat. size. 6. ♂ Flower. 7. Small twig of fruits, mostly ripe. Nat. size. 8. One fruit (berry) in long. section. emb. embryo (near left side of endosperm). e. endosperm (dotted in the figure). 9. One cell of the endosperm. 10. Seedling plant, showing the lengthened hypocotyl and the first leaf. The seed is cut transversely, showing one half of the horny endosperm.
