Drawings of the Southern Sotho kraal plans, depicting detail of the Phuting kraal (a pottery hearth, the chief's kraal, bush herds, 3 huts of the 2nd son of the 1st wife, 3 huts of the eldest son of the 1st wife, 5 huts of the 1st wife, 4 huts of the sons of the 2nd wife, 3 huts of the 2nd wife, 3 huts of the 3rd wife, a cattle kraal, calves and a khotla), an early Sotho kraat at Thaba Bosiu (a cattle kraal), the Tlokoa kraal (huts of the Tebele servants, huts of the brother's family, a kraal, huts of 1st wife, huts of other wives, cattle, calves, a khotla and a Tebele cattle kraal) and the Pedi kraal (a meeting place, a men's hut, huts of the inferior wives, huts of the Serupe wife, a great hut, huts of the Letsoho wife, a shade tree and a men's area. Detail are also provided of the early Fokeng-Koena settlement at Koaling, a cattle kraal or khotla, huts, rock-shelter dwellings and middens.
